Wild coast

A protected natural site on the peninsula of Quiberon

A few kilometers from La Trinité sur Mer :
There is an exceptional natural site on the peninsula of Quiberon: discover the wild coast walking on a 8 kilometers coastal path and admire the beaches, cliffs and caves ...

      • Caves and natural arches

      • Erosion has sculpted the wild coast with patience and power. Hidden coves, rocky escarpments, dozens of caves revealed at low tide...

Every turn brings a new surprise. The natural arch at Port Blanc is one of the jewels of the site. Direct access is forbidden, but it can be admired magnificently from the path.

A word of advice: respect these restrictions. The wild coast lives up to its name. Even in calm weather, the waves remain dangerous and swimming is strictly forbidden. Rogue waves can strike at any moment, without warning.

      • Facing due west, open to Atlantic winds and swell, the wild coast of Quiberon is one of the most beautiful and most untamed stretches of coastline in Brittany.

For 8 kilometres, the coastal path follows granite cliffs carpeted with lichens and wild flowers: sea pinks, heather, violets, gorse... a living tapestry that changes colour with the seasons.

Reserved for walkers, the path helps preserve a fragile wildlife and flora.

Here, the sea is never quite the same twice. Powerful, ever-changing, sometimes wild, it offers breathtaking panoramas from the clifftops. A path to walk slowly, with eyes wide open.

      • Put on your walking shoes or jump on a bike: the Quiberon peninsula reveals itself differently when you explore it at your own pace.

The coastal path, waymarked by the GR34, follows the spectacular cliffs of the wild coast from Portivy all the way to the tip of the peninsula.

At the end of the trail, Quiberon welcomes you as a true seaside resort: fine sandy beach, a long promenade lined with villas, shops and lively terraces.

Port Maria, its iconic harbour and once the leading sardine fishing port in France, is today the departure point for ferries to Belle-Île, Houat and Hoëdic.

On the bay side, the atmosphere is entirely different: calm turquoise waters, sheltered beaches and two charming harbours.

The peaceful Port d'Orange facing Saint-Pierre-Quiberon, and Port Haliguen with its vast marina.

For cyclists, the greenway runs alongside the wild coast all the way to Quiberon, and the 15 km loop allows you to discover both sides of the peninsula in a single ride.
